Should there be breathalizers on all cars, is a question that many people are asking when it comes to a lot of the newer cars that are being manufactured by leading automobile providers. Before, these breathalyzers were only mandated to be in the cars of individuals that had been convicted of driving while intoxicated, however there have been a lot of debates about these breathalyzers being installed in all vehicles.
These devices are designed to where the person that is operating a vehicle will be required to blow some air into a tube. The tube is connected to a device that determines the amount of alcohol that is present in a persons system. If they have exceeded the allocated amount of alcohol allowed for their system to register, their vehicle will not start or it will lock up making it impossible for them to drive.
The idea to have these machines installed in all vehicles, once seemed like a pretty outlandish thing to do. However, over time a lot of different organizations have come together and decided that having one of these machines in every vehicle may not be a bad idea.
These machines being placed in motor vehicles have both good as well as bad attributes that many people are feeding off of to showcase their opinion on the matter. In fact, there are a plethora of people that declare that putting these machines in vehicles is actually a violation of a persons constitutional rights.
In most states throughout the United States a judge will mandate an individual that has been convicted of driving under the influence of alcohol to have one of these machines in their vehicles for an allocated period of time. Many people believe in order to eliminate people even considering driving while drunk, implementing the law that all vehicles have this machine is actually a great idea.
There are a multitude of people that have lost their lives due to a reckless individual that made the decision to drive while intoxicated. If all vehicles had this machine, then there could be less drunk driving cases, and more lives saved because of it.
Debates are still presently going on concerning this subject. But, for the most part a lot of people are actually beginning to favor the idea of having breathalizers installed in vehicles. Only the future will tell if this law gets passed throughout the United States or not.
